College Presidents in Short Supply

As the fall semester gets underway, both San Jose City College and Evergreen Valley College have interim leadership. At SJCC, a hiring process is well underway to hire a full time president. Roland Montemayor has been Interim President for over a year. At EVC, as reported in a short announcement in the San Jose Mercury News on August 30, 2019, entitled, “Evergreen Valley College president placed on leave. No one will say why”, Keith Aytch is on leave and Chancellor Byron Breland announced he is assuming the administrative duties at EVC in the meantime. No explanations have been given for the leave and the chancellor has asked staff and faculty to avoid discussing the situation.
