Your entire AFT 6157R team attended this year’s South Bay Labor Council Brunch at the San Jose Downtown Marriot on March 21, 2026. Our AFT 6157 colleagues also attended, so we actually have a photo of our collective team consisting of Paul Fong, Walter Soellner, Kathy Jasper, and Leslie Rice (AFT 6157R) AND Doug Robb and Carol Abohatab (AFT 6157). The keynote speaker this year was Honorable Robert Rivas, Speaker of the Assembly.

• Union of the Year: SEIU 521
• Labor Champion: Ron Lind, UFCW Local 5 (Mr. Lind spent 12 years on our SJECCD Governing Board)
• Power Ally: Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren
• Community Coalition Award: Yes on Measure A Campaign (AFT 6157R contributed $500 to this campaign)
We all enjoyed the inspiring speeches and the strong feeling of community.
